Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Mackenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Montabon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montabon has chosen Ain't No Sunshine as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jesse Mackenzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricardo Montabon!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Alyssa Summers and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mackenzie forces Montabon back against the cage and clinches.

Montabon wants to get back to striking at distance but Mackenzie won't allow it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Montabon can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mackenzie is keen to just control but Montabon is a slippery customer.

Mackenzie wants to work for an arm triangle but Montabon is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mackenzie really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mackenzie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Montabon pinned against the cage. Montabon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mackenzie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Montabon has closed the distance and engaged Mackenzie in a clinch.

Montabon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Mackenzie counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Montabon thinking.
Mackenzie gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Montabon.
Mackenzie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Montabon but Montabon pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Mackenzie shoots in looking for a takedown. Montabon tries to sprawl out of it but Mackenzie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Montabon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Montabon shoots in for a double leg but Mackenzie sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Montabon wants to slow Mackenzie down by chopping away at his legs.
