The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redwood fails to land the takedown.
Redwood closes the distance and clinches up with Scott, looking for a takedown. Redwood pushes Scott against the cage but Scott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Scott misses with a few strikes there.
Scott throws a series of punches but Redwood avoids them all with ease.
Scott lands a nice hook to Redwood's body. Redwood takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Scott should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Redwood shoots in looking for a takedown. Scott tries to sprawl out of it but Redwood keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Scott manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricky Redwood. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Redwood shoots for a takedown but Scott saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Scott lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Scott.
Redwood takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Scott lands a really nice looking cross but Redwood seems unphased.
Nathan Scott is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Scott connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Redwood walks into a jab.
Redwood walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Scott lands with a nice body punch.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Redwood. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Redwood takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Redwood gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Scott wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Scott lands a nice looking body shot.
Redwood ducks right into an uppercut from Scott.
Scott lands with a slapping head kick.
Scott's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Scott duly obliges.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Scott lands a nice leg kick that just misses Redwood's sensitive parts.
Scott lands a head kick. Redwood smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Scott lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Scott lets loose with a powerful body kick. Redwood will feel that in the morning.

Redwood has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Redwood there as he acknowledges the shot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Redwood takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Redwood shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Redwood drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Scott circles away from the clinch attempt.

Scott has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Redwood closes this distance looking for a takedown but Scott circles away.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Scott connects with a right hand. Redwood shakes it off.

Scott tries to bum rush Redwood with a series of wild strikes but Redwood uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Ricky Redwood's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Nathan Scott seems to be getting the better of the standup.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Scott lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Redwood takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Scott works over Redwood's head and body with a nice combination.
Scott lands a right hook to the body.
Scott bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Redwood's head backwards.
Redwood is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Redwood looks to clinch
and Scott counters with a good, hard body kick but Redwood shrugs it off.
Scott lands with a kick to the temple. Redwood shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Scott fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Redwood on the side of the head.
Redwood tries to close the distance and clinch but Scott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Redwood tries for a takedown but Scott sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Redwood stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Scott.

Scott throws a series of strikes that have Redwood backpedaling.
Good leg kick by Scott there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Redwood has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Scott lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Redwood backs up against the cage.
A right-left combo lands from Scott.
Scott lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Scott misses with a series of wild punches.
Scott fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Redwood.
Redwood looks to clinch
and Scott counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Redwood throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Scott's waist but Scott gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Redwood off to one side.

and Scott counters with a good low kick that Redwood was not able to check.

Nathan Scott comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Scott has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
