Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roland Benson (ranked 6234 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Park (ranked 7616 p4p, 0 weight class). Park comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Deadline kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Roland Benson has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roland Benson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Park! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ron Honeybunn and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benson blocks a head kick by Park.
Benson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Benson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Park is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Park tries to improve position but can't. Benson working the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Park tries to bench press Benson off him but Benson keeps the position. Park struggling a bit here. Park is trying to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Benson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Park is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Benson controlling the position. Park gets back to half guard. Benson is nestled in close to Park, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Park is trying to maintain the position but Benson is very close to passing his half guard. Benson controlling the action here. Benson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Benson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Park wants to get back to full guard. Benson is thwarting Park's attempts to control the position. Benson drops an elbow to the side of Park's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Park is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Benson scores with a couple of nice shots. Park taking some punishment here, with Benson in his half guard. Benson lands strikes from half guard. Park looks like he's trying to stand up.
Park has hold of Benson's hands but Benson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Nice strikes from Benson there. Benson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Benson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Well, if Benson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Park trying to hold on to Benson's head to control him but Benson postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Park throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Benson. Benson lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Benson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Park is looking to get back to his feet here but Benson is keeping cool and he's managed to take Park's back. Benson has good solid back control here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Benson gets his hands free as Park looks to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roland Benson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Park throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Benson's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Park dives in looking to finish as Benson flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Park's strikes! Park is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Benson's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Benson was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Park! Jason Park seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
