Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ba Ba Booey (ranked 2380 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Rickston (ranked 4929 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ricky Rickston was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ba Ba Booey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ricky Rickston!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rickston gets caught flat footed, as Booey shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Booey drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Booey jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Booey wants to control from the top but Rickston keeps moving.
Booey looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Booey slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Booey looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rickston struggling a bit here.

Booey tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Booey has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rickston is trying to control Booey's posture but Booey avoids it.
Rickston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Booey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
You can see the frustration on Rickston's face as Booey controls the position.

Booey goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rickston rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Booey's guard! Nice work there by Rickston!

Booey working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rickston doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rickston manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Booey had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rickston defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rickston avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rickston wants to get up but he can't break Booey's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Booey controls Rickston momentarily but Rickston frees himself.
Booey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rickston is sitting in close to Booey's body. Booey has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Rickston is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Rickston is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Booey.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ba Ba Booey!
