Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Don Petersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cory Booker!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petersen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Booker!

Petersen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Petersen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Petersen tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Petersen misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petersen tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Petersen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Petersen just content to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Petersen advances nicely into full mount.

Petersen wants to finish this one by submission but Booker is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Petersen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Petersen is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Booker to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Booker shrugs it off.

Petersen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Booker manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Petersen sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Booker is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Petersen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Booker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Petersen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Booker sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Petersen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Petersen is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Booker looks calm but he's in trouble here. Petersen gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Booker is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Petersen lets go of the hold and Booker can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Don Petersen!
Our winner, Don Petersen, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
