Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Woodcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Swanson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Woodcock! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swanson connects with a looping right hand.
Swanson has a takedown stuffed. Woodcock tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Swanson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Woodcock tries to close the distance and clinch but Swanson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nice jab there from Woodcock. Swanson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Woodcock looks to land a left hand but Swanson moved out of range nicely. Swanson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Woodcock moves away. Donk. Swanson catches Woodcock right on the button with a cross. Swanson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Swanson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Swanson slips a jab and a cross from Woodcock.
Woodcock scores with a nice strike. This has been an exciting period of action! Woodcock misses with a straight right. Woodcock dodges the punch combination from Swanson.
Swanson ducks under a wild hook from Woodcock. Swanson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woodcock is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Swanson asserts his dominance and retains side control. Woodcock is looking for a sweep. Swanson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Woodcock is trying to control Swanson's posture but Swanson avoids it. Swanson tries for a kimura but Woodcock is defending well. Swanson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Swanson avoids the strikes from the bottom by Woodcock.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Woodcock is looking to regain half guard here but Swanson keeps moving and retains side control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Woodcock looks to land a right hand but Swanson moved out of range. Swanson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Woodcock counters with a right hand to the body. Woodcock misses with a straight left. Woodcock throws a head kick that half lands.
Woodcock throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Woodcock shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Swanson tries to control Woodcock's body but Woodcock pushes him off. Swanson squirms to his side and now Woodcock has his back! Woodcock doesn't have the hooks in and Swanson manages to turn into his guard.
Swanson is breathing heavily. Swanson trying to control but Woodcock is working from the bottom. Swanson with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodcock has his foot on Swanson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Swanson works his way back into a safe position though. Swanson has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Woodcock to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Swanson is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Woodcock pulls down on the head and he's put Swanson to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). James Woodcock!
