Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Von Cranial! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimbo Monsoon! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Cranial throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Cranial has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hellfire Antechamber in the buildup to the fight. Cranial looks to land a left hand but Monsoon moved out of range nicely. Monsoon blocks a jab. Monsoon looks for a takedown but Cranial sprawls well. It looked like Cranial wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Cranial misses the body punch and Monsoon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Monsoon misses with an uppercut. Cranial saw that one coming. Cranial slips under a jab. Cranial's corner calls for a 1-2. Cranial obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monsoon misses with an uppercut. Cranial lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Monsoon at a distance.
Monsoon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cranial moves away. Monsoon fails with a takedown attempt. Cranial fires out a quick counter leg kick but Monsoon just manages to avoid it. A telegraphed right hand from Monsoon misses the target. Cranial is looking to counter punch. Jimbo Monsoon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cranial scores with a body shot.
Monsoon swings widly with a right hand
letting Cranial counter with a right hand. Cranial wobbles Monsoon with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Cranial dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Monsoon to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Von Cranial! Von Cranial retains his heavyweight title! A less than humble Von Cranial misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
