Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Neculai Costel (ranked 2194 p4p, 223 weight class) and Because I Can (ranked 1610 p4p, 173 weight class). Costel comes to the cage accompanied by Ain't No Sunshine. Because I Can acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

16 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Because I Can!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
I Can uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Costel has time to react.
Costel works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
I Can misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Costel.
I Can throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Costel has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
A head kick misses from Costel.
Costel fails with a takedown attempt.
A shot to the liver by I Can. Beautiful body shot.
Costel avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Costel misses the target.
A slapping leg kick lands for Costel.
Costel takes a swing at I Can's ribcage but misses.
It seemed like I Can was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
I Can throws a left and a right that both miss
and Costel counters with a single leg into guard. I Can didn't expect that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
I Can trying to control the position.
I Can is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
I Can is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Costel defends well.

I Can is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
I Can wants to sweep here but Costel controlling him for the moment.
Costel trying to control but I Can is working from the bottom.
I Can tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Costel throws a big right hand that misses.
Costel trying to stand up but can't free himself from I Can's guard.
I Can seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
I Can not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Costel with a poor takedown
and I Can counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Costel lands a straight punch to the body, keeping I Can at a distance.
I Can misses with a hook. Costel ducked under it nicely.
I Can tries to bum rush Costel with a series of wild strikes but Costel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Costel bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
I Can throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Costel fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Costel misses with a takedown
enabling I Can to counter with a crisp jab.
Costel is rocked!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Neculai Costel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. I Can engages and cracks Costel with a massive lead left hook - Costel tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! I Can is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Because I Can!
Because I Can bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
Neculai Costel was interviewed post fight and said 'You win some, you lose some. I have to give it to Hess, he was sneakyer tonight.'.
