Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Petey Bartlett (ranked 292 p4p, 34 weight class) and Melek Taus (ranked 8397 p4p, 651 weight class). Bartlett comes into the arena with KEN mode - Counter Culture Complex blaring out of the sound system. Taus is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: A Cry For Vengeance. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Taus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Taus tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Bartlett manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Taus keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bartlett throws a half hearted mid kick.
Bartlett throws a body shot but no joy.
And Taus responds with a good body kick, but Bartlett manages to step out the way in time.
Bartlett has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

It looked like Bartlett was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Taus.

Taus moves out of range as Bartlett throws a body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bartlett looks to score with a jab to the body but Taus is just out of range.
Taus swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Taus works Bartlett's body with a nice hook.
Bartlett throws a leg kick
and Taus makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Bartlett really felt that one!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Taus sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Bartlett lands a two punch combo.
Bartlett throws a hook but Taus blocks it.
A head kick misses from Bartlett.
Taus doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Taus moves out of range of the body kick from Bartlett.
Taus flicks out a counter leg kick but Bartlett steps away.
Taus throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Taus avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bartlett throws a leg kick
and Taus counters with a stiff right hand.
A jab from Bartlett finds it's way through Taus's defenses.

letting Taus counter with a right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Taus takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Bartlett throws a lazy uppercut
and Taus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Petey Bartlett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bartlett misses with a leg kick
and Taus counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Bartlett lands with a right to the head.
Taus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Taus closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bartlett lands a body shot in the clinch.
Taus can't find room to land a body shot as Bartlett controls the action.
Bartlett tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Petey Bartlett will probably get the nod.

and Taus counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Taus changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

and Bartlett takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Oh Bartlett is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Taus counters with a nice kick to the body.
Bartlett seems to have got his legs back now.
Taus connects with a quick right hand that sends Bartlett tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!
