Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steven Rutter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Steven Rutter has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Rutter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Black! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Black drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sloppy strikes there by Black. Black working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Black misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Black working the ground and pound but Rutter is defending the strikes. Rutter parries the strikes from Black easily there. Black is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rutter to escape.
Black is working Rutter over with some ground and pound from side control. Black misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Black throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Black changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rutter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Rutter parries the strikes from Black easily there. Black is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rutter to escape.
Black postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Rutter is trying to stand up here but Black is controlling him well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Black uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rutter. A combination from Rutter does no damage. Black drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Black trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rutter wants to stand but Black is controlling the position. Rutter is breathing heavily. Black trying to control the position from guard on top but Rutter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Black is looking to work some ground and pound but Rutter has wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Black looking to pass the guard. Black pushing down on Rutter's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Rutter tries to kick Black off but Black keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Black missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rutter gets caught flat footed, as Black shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rutter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Rutter uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Rutter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Black. Black drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Black postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Black is trying to ground and pound but Rutter uses the momentary lack of control by Black to regain half guard. Rutter moves into full guard.
Rutter manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Black closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Black throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Rutter works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Black dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Rutter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Black circles away quickly and effectively. Jack Black is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Some wild striking there from Rutter.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Some wild striking there from Black.

and Rutter counters with a series of strikes. Black will be more careful next time no doubt. Black looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Black scores with a takedown into Rutter's guard. Rutter wants to stand up but Black is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Black postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Black must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Black trying to control but Rutter is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Black keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rutter. Black drives through with a takedown into guard. Black distracts Rutter with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Black displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rutter throws out the jab. Rutter lands a head shot. Black looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Black is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Black showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Black's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rutter throws a good cross that connects.
Black darts in trying to clinch and Black takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Black fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Steven Rutter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Black. A jab lands there for Rutter. Steven Rutter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Black dodges the punch combination from Rutter.
Black looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Black seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rutter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! Jack Black comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Black winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
