Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Olen Sargent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Timmons! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Timmons forces Sargent back against the cage and clinches. Sargent misses with a hook to the ribs.
Timmons jumps guard.
Sargent is in close to Timmons's body, working some short punches and elbows. Sargent stops Timmons from standing up. Timmons has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Sargent has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Sargent keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Timmons's efforts to push away. Sargent is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Timmons is defending well. Timmons has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sargent uses from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Timmons wants to stand up but Sargent is controlling him. Sargent is looking to work some ground and pound but Timmons has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Timmons avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Sargent landing with the ground and pound. Timmons working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sargent. Sargent stops Timmons from standing up. Sargent throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Timmons works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Sargent will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Sargent postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Timmons wants to stand up but Sargent is controlling him.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sargent dodges the punch combination from Timmons.
Sargent has closed the distance and engaged Timmons in a clinch.
Sargent decides to pull guard. Sargent has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Timmons gets to his feet - Sargent follows without any prompting. Timmons tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sargent paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sargent has Timmons up against the cage in a clinch.
Timmons blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Timmons blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Timmons is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A quick uppercut on the inside from Timmons. Timmons breaks from the clinch.
Timmons tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sargent paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sargent tries to counter by clinching up but Timmons breaks away and moves out of range. Timmons throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Timmons instigates a clinch. Sargent gets through Timmons's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Sargent avoiding damage as Timmons throws knees to the body.
Sargent tightens his grip and picks Timmons up, before dumping him to the ground. Timmons manages to land in guard. Timmons is looking to stand up but Sargent isn't so interested in that idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sargent missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sargent lands a couple of digs. Sargent stops Timmons from standing up. Sargent postures up in Timmons's guard and throws a big left but Timmons blocks it. Sargent loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Timmons wants to stand but Sargent is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sargent throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Olen Sargent will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Timmons uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sargent.
Sargent gets tackled into the cage by Timmons. Timmons maintains the clinch. Timmons blocks an uppercut.

Timmons tries to break the clinch but Sargent is controlling the position. Sargent manages to break the clinch.
Timmons tries to clinch up but Sargent circles away and keeps his distance. Sargent throws a big counter combination but Timmons scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Timmons misses with a body shot.
Timmons tries to clinch but Sargent is having none of it. Sargent tries to counter with a takedown but Timmons is quick to defend against it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Timmons clinches up with Sargent and pushes him back against the cage. Sargent wants to take the fight to the mat but Timmons manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Sargent really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Sargent tries for a takedown but Timmons manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Olen Sargent. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sargent keeps control of Timmons as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Timmons decides to pull guard. Sargent throws a strike but Timmons rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Timmons is looking to stand up but Sargent won't let him. Sargent looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Sargent looking to control.
Timmons decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sargent, up you get! Timmons moves to clinch but Sargent breaks away and Sargent counters with a takedown into side control. Timmons explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Timmons has been the more effective fighter overall so far. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Timmons closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Sargent has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Timmons is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Sargent takes a shot to the head. Sargent avoids a wild elbow strike from Timmons. Sargent is looking for a takedown. Sargent jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Timmons walks away with a smile on his face. Sargent gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Marcus Timmons is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Timmons moves into the clinch. Still in the clinch, Timmons scores with a nice short uppercut. Timmons stalling against the cage.
Timmons can't break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Timmons misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sargent.
Timmons lands a right hand that snaps the head of Sargent backwards. Sargent has hold of one of Timmons's legs. Timmons is fighting the takedown attempt but Sargent gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Timmons kicks Sargent off and gets to his feet. Timmons throws a right and a left that Sargent avoids nicely. Sargent is looking for a counter combo. Sargent keeps the fight on the outside. Timmons tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sargent swats him away and circles back towards the center. A quick step to the side and Sargent tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Timmons wants to clinch and Sargent counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Timmons thinking. Timmons forces Sargent back against the cage and clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sargent wants to take the fight to the mat but Timmons manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Sargent is working for takedown but Timmons is calmly controlling the position for now. Sargent has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Timmons is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Timmons gets underhooks to prevent Sargent's takedown attempt.

A frustrated look appears on Timmons's face as he tries to break the clinch. Sargent goes for a takedown attempt but Timmons pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Timmons tries to clinch but Sargent moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Timmons showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Timmons cracks Sargent with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Sargent falls to his knees and Timmons doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcus Timmons! A relieved looking Marcus Timmons thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
