Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vasilyev.
D tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vasilyev was well out of range. Poor timing from D.
D looks to land a combination. Vasilyev sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Aleksandr Vasilyev has been cut.
A punch combination from Vasilyev misses.
Vasilyev cracks D with a good jab.
A combination from Vasilyev does no damage.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from D.

Vasilyev looks to land a combination. D sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Vasilyev rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but D moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
D misses with a head kick.

D fails in his attempt to clinch.
Vasilyev throws a hook to the side of D's head but D sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Vasilyev throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
D shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
D moves into range and connects with a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

D's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and D duly obliges.

D shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vasilyev as he avoids it easily.
Aleksandr Vasilyev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damien D.
D dodges the punch combination from Vasilyev.
D tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vasilyev paws at him with a jab and circles away.
D misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Vasilyev.
No luck for D with that takedown attempt.
D shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vasilyev as he avoids it easily.
Vasilyev keeps the fight on the outside.
D throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vasilyev connects with a good right hand that stumbles D. D circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Vasilyev tries to land a leg kick but D saw it coming and moves away.
Vasilyev will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

D should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

D misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Left hook, right uppercut from Vasilyev.
It looks like Damien D has been cut.
D fails with an attempt to clinch.
Vasilyev has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
D throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vasilyev's waist but Vasilyev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing D off to one side.
D looks gassed!
Vasilyev misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Vasilyev lands with a right and another and another! D is in big trouble! Vasilyev lands again and this time it's lights out for D! A quality knockout there for Vasilyev.
