The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayden fails to land the takedown.
Stone unleashes a big counter combination but Hayden bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Hayden throws the left hand but Stone avoids the punch easily.

Stone pushes Hayden up against the cage in a clinch.
Hayden managing to block the knees to the body from Stone.

Stone pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stone stuffs the takedown attempt from Hayden. Hayden gets slowly back to his feet.
Hayden keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stone has closed the distance and engaged Hayden in a clinch.
Stone can't get the takedown.
Stone is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Stone is trying to pull guard but Hayden has him pressed against the cage.
Henry Hayden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rico Stone.

Hayden lands a takedown into guard.
Stone is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hayden dives into side control.

The referee asks Hayden politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hayden prefers to stall for the moment though.

Hayden stands up and beckons Stone to his feet.
Stone shoots in for a double leg but Hayden sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hayden appears to be looking for a big counter.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hayden slowing the pace effectively.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Hayden.
Hayden throws a knee to the head but misses.
Hayden tries to pull guard but Stone holds him up against the cage and eventually Hayden drops back down to his feet.
Hayden misses with a knee to the head.
Hayden tries to circle away but Stone has him pinned against the cage.
Hayden is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hayden tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stone avoids it.

Stone jumps into guard, dragging Hayden to the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stone wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hayden is now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hayden winds up and cracks Stone with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hayden could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Hayden is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Stone is looking to get back to full guard here but Hayden has managed to pass to side control instead.

Stone wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Hayden has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Stone's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Stone is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Hayden!
