The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davenport throws a head kick that misses.
Albert Aliev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davenport pushes Aliev up against the cage in a clinch.
Aliev tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Davenport decides to pull guard.
Aliev wants to pass the guard but Davenport is keeping the position.
Aliev drops back looking for a leg! Davenport is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davenport manages to kick Aliev off! Aliev jumps back into Davenport's guard.
Davenport is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aliev wants to control but Davenport is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davenport stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Aliev tries to clinch up but Davenport circles away and keeps his distance.
Aliev tries to keep at a distance but Davenport has taken the fight into the clinch.
Davenport jumps guard and drags Aliev to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Davenport is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Aliev rolls with it to try and escape but Davenport cranks on the arm and Aliev is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
