Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Davos Kung (ranked 23234 p4p, 742 weight class) and Danny Meechum (ranked 23198 p4p, 780 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Davos Kung! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Meechum! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meechum fails in his attempt to clinch. Nice takedown defense from Meechum. No joy for Kung on that attempt. Kung takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Kung lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Meechum bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Kung drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Meechum shoots in but Kung avoids the takedown attempt easily. Meechum clinches with his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kung tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Meechum's elbow. Meechum leaning against his opponent.
Kung escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round. Meechum looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kung looks to score with a jab to the body but Meechum is just out of range. And Meechum tries to counter it with a takedown but Kung pushes his down on his head and steps out. Meechum shoots in for a takedown but Kung shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Davos Kung has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Meechum. Meechum displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kung. Meechum shoots in but Kung avoids the takedown attempt easily. As Meechum looks to move away, Kung throws a big counter combo but Meechum just gets out of the way. Kung shoots in for a takedown but Meechum shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Meechum throws a nice head kick!

Kung tries to pull guard but Meechum holds him up against the cage and eventually Kung drops back down to his feet.
Kung lands an uppercut. Kung is pressed up against the cage. Meechum has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kung down to the mat. Kung avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Meechum looks for the body kick but Kung saw that one coming. Kung appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Meechum closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Meechum lands in his opponent's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kung looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meechum controls from within his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kung manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Meechum manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kung stands up from guard. Let's bang! A shot to the liver by Meechum. Beautiful body shot. The crowd cheers as Kung lands an impressive looking overhand right. Meechum doesn't seem phased though. Kung shoots in but Meechum avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kung closes the distance looking to clinch and Meechum counters with a lovely straight right hand! Meechum gets a double leg takedown into Kung's guard. Meechum stands up from guard. Let's bang! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Danny Meechum will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Meechum fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kung avoids it really well and circles away. Meechum shoots for a takedown but Kung saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Horrible takedown attempt by Meechum or perhaps it was just good defense by Kung, which made it look bad. Davos Kung has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Meechum. Kung throws a right and a left that Meechum avoids nicely. Kung tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Meechum swivels and escapes. Meechum wants to counter the offense by Kung and move into the clinch position. Nice sprawl there from Meechum as Kung shoots in. Kung misses with the body kick and Meechum makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kung really felt that one! Kung gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Meechum to score an easy takedown into full guard. Kung is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Meechum presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kung breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kung shoots in looking for a takedown. Meechum tries to sprawl out of it but Kung keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Meechum manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Meechum tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meechum closes the distance and clinches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Meechum jumps guard.
Kung wants to control from the top but Meechum keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Meechum has Kung pulled in close to control his posture. Kung pushes down on Meechum's leg and manages to get into half guard. Kung is keen to just control but Meechum is a slippery customer. Kung is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Meechum is trying to control but can't.

Kung dives in and grabs Meechum's left leg, looking for a takedown. Meechum pushes down on Kung's head and hops out. Kung fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Meechum tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kung just stands there and leans against the cage. Kung is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Kung pulls guard. Kung bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Meechum's guard. Meechum wants to sweep but no luck. Meechum seems keen to control Kung's posture. Meechum wants to sweep but no luck. Davos Kung overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meechum keeping moving, preventing Kung from controlling successfully. Meechum is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Meechum is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kung trying to control but Meechum is working from the bottom. Kung slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
