Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Pierno (ranked 203 p4p, 33 weight class) and Lao Shin (ranked 128 p4p, 23 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Pierno might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sick Puppies - You're Going Down . Shin has chosen Shaolin Chamber of Death as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Pierno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
33 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Lao Shin! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pierno misses the jab. Pierno swings and misses with a shot to the body and Shin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Shin misses with a body kick. Shin throws a shot from downtown. Pierno moves away and avoids it. Pierno throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Shin on the side of the head. Pierno has Shin up against the cage in a clinch.

Pierno pulls guard. Pierno has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pierno being controlled here, momentarily. Pierno is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shin defends well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shin slips nicely into half guard. Pierno is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Pierno is refusing to be controlled, as Shin sits in half guard. Pierno actively working from the bottom here. Pierno looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Shin wants to pass to mount but Pierno is defending the position. Pierno is looking for a sweep. Shin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pierno defends it well. Shin prevents Pierno from improving his position. Shin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pierno doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shin. Shin is trying to work for a kimura but Pierno is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Shin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pierno does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Pierno actively working from the bottom here. Shin prevents Pierno from improving his position. Shin passes to side control. Shin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Shin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Shin trying to control the action but Pierno is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pierno gets back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pierno moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Pierno controls Shin momentarily but Shin frees himself. Shin controls from within his opponent's guard. Shin wants to control from the top but Pierno keeps moving. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pierno is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Lao Shin will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Pierno connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Shin dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Pierno stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Pierno rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Shin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Nice uppercut there from Pierno. Shin fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Tim Pierno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pierno. Pierno swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Shin. Pierno tries to clinch but Shin is having none of it. Pierno misses with a left hand and Shin counters with a stiff right hand. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pierno works the jab nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierno missing with a left hand there. Shin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Shin throws out a counter right but Pierno avoids it with no problem. Shin lands with a good body shot. Pierno is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Shin gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pierno. Pierno is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Pierno throws a looping overhand right but Shin ducks down to avoid it. Pierno tries to bum rush Shin with a series of wild strikes but Shin uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Tim Pierno is winning the standup battle so far. Pierno misses with a hook. Pierno throws an off balance right hand
and Shin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Shin misses with a jab to the body
and Pierno counters with a nice uppercut. Shin misses with an uppercut
and Pierno makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Shin slips a jab from Pierno. Shin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pierno moves away. A slow jab from Pierno misses its intended target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shin lunges at Pierno with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pierno's hand. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pierno lands a jab. Pierno misses with an uppercut. Pierno scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Pierno throws a right hand that misses
and Shin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pierno thinking. Pierno moves into range and clinches up with Shin. Pierno lands a shoulder strike. Pierno lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Pierno pushes Shin back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Pierno lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shin backwards. Shin's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A short uppercut from Pierno. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shin. Shin fails to pull guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Shin just misses with a elbow thrown towards Pierno's brow. A short uppercut from Shin. Shin misses with a hook to the ribs.

Shin gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Pierno is trying to pull guard but Shin has him pressed against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Pierno struggles to land a body shot inside as Shin controls his hands.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Pierno looks to land a left hand but Shin moved out of range nicely. Despite the aggression on Shin's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shin misses with a leg kick and Pierno counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Shin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Shin looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Pierno scores with a body shot.
Shin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pierno. Shin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pierno has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Shin throws a jab when Pierno was well out of range. Pierno seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. A lazy body kick from Shin and Pierno connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pierno misses with a left hand and Shin counters with a left to the body. Pierno throws a shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tim Pierno dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Lao Shin seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Shin lands a nice shot to the body. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pierno misses with a hook from the clinch. Shin swings wildly with an uppercut but Pierno uses good head movement to avoid it. Pierno jumps guard but Shin stands there with Pierno around his waist. Pierno gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Pierno. That's going to take a lot out of him.

He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pierno tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Shin!
