Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Grill (ranked 2543 p4p, 331 weight class) and Jan Molby (ranked 5472 p4p, 612 weight class). Jan Molby has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Grill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jan Molby!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Molby takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Molby tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Grill connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Molby is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Molby looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Molby gets cracked there but stands up to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Grill counters with a stiff right hand.
A big right from Molby misses.
Jan Molby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Molby tries to clinch
and Grill cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Molby swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Grill counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Molby throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Grill tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Molby is in Grill's guard.

Molby trying to control the position from guard on top but Grill is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Grill is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Molby working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Molby postures up in Grill's guard and throws a big left but Grill blocks it.

Grill lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Molby wants to sweep here but Grill controlling him for the moment.
Grill is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Molby is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Molby bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Grill's guard.

Grill lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Molby tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Grill's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Grill postures up.
Grill won't allow Molby to sweep him here.
Grill slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Molby looking for a sweep. Not yet Molby, not yet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Molby has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Grill can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Molby changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Grill tries to avoid it but Molby manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Grill to the ground. Grill escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've been told by Grill's head coaches at LOD London BALLS OF STEEL that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Molby takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

and Grill counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Molby looks to clinch

Molby with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Grill to score with a decent uppercut.

Molby moves to clinch but Grill breaks away
and Molby takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bob Grill is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Molby closes the distance looking to clinch
and Grill counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Molby shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Grill counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bob Grill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Molby.
Grill throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Grill is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Nice shot lands for Grill.
Nice defenses there by Grill.
Bob Grill is winning the standup battle so far.

Molby tries to clinch
and Grill counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Molby shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Grill counters with a nice uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Grill moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Molby looks to clinch

and Grill counters with a crisp one two that drops Molby! Grill thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Molby to his feet! Molby is in big trouble!


Molby is rocked!
Molby misses the shot to the body.
Molby is still on wobbly legs! Can Grill finish him?

Grill cracks Molby with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Molby looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Grill finish him?
Grill throws a monster overhand right that drops Molby! Grill follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob Grill!
