Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Uriah Faber (ranked 6434 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Breezy (ranked 6467 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Uriah Faber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rex Breezy!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faber is looking to clinch but Breezy is avoiding it.

Breezy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Breezy trying to control from half guard but Faber is working away.
Breezy content to control rather than advance.

Breezy is trying to work for a kimura but Faber is defending well.
Faber wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Faber tries to roll over but Breezy keeps him under control.

Faber is trying is best to control the position here.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Breezy is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Faber looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Breezy is fending him off so far but Faber persists. Nope, Breezy circles away and we're back to standing.

Breezy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Breezy is looking to pass into half guard but Faber pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Faber is in guard.

Faber slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Breezy has control of Faber's left arm, preventing Faber from doing any damage.

Faber is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Breezy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Breezy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Faber.
Faber closes this distance looking for a takedown but Breezy circles away.

Faber looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Breezy is trying to escape back to his feet but Faber uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Breezy manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Faber seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Breezy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Breezy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Faber looking to sit in guard and control but Breezy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Faber is looking to stand up but Breezy isn't so interested in that idea.
Faber doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Breezy would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Faber has his hands on Breezy's head, controlling the position.
Faber wants to stand up but Breezy is controlling him.
Breezy passes Faber's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Breezy tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Faber makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Faber.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Breezy enables Faber to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Breezy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Faber wants to control from the top but Breezy keeps moving.
Breezy is trying to hold Faber in close to prevent damage but Faber has managed to pass into half guard.

Breezy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Faber is controlling him.
Breezy has a closed guard, preventing Faber from standing up.
Faber throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Breezy works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Faber defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Breezy.
Faber pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Faber backs off Breezy throws a huge counter combo but Faber manages to avoid it all.
Breezy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Faber sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Breezy somewhat.
Uriah Faber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Breezy.

Breezy stuffs the takedown attempt from Faber. Faber gets slowly back to his feet.
Faber blocks a low kick nicely.

Faber drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Breezy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Faber wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Rex Breezy has got the better of the ground game so far.
Breezy tries to roll over but Faber keeps him under control.

Breezy throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Faber is trying to control the action in half guard but Breezy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Faber shoots in for a double leg but Breezy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Faber on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Faber tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Well Breezy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
