Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Dirk (ranked 4678 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Newell (ranked 2561 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tom Dirk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Duke Newell! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Newell, as that shot connected.
Dirk takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Dirk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Newell was well out of range. Poor timing from Dirk. Newell takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Dirk is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Newell avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Dirk looks to land a right hand but Newell moved out of range. Newell lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dirk on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Dirk throws a body punch but Newell moves out of range. A little jabbing left from Newell on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Dirk throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Newell to counter with a crisp jab. Newell cracks Dirk with a right hand to the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dirk misses the body punch and Newell connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Dirk misses with a right hand and Newell counters with a stiff right hand. Newell tests Dirk's chin there with a solid looking shot. Dirk takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Newell punishes Dirk's body with a nice straight punch. Dirk throws a lazy right hand but Newell sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Newell with a jab. Newell lands a lovely overhand right. Dirk looks to land a right hand but Newell moved out of range. Dirk swings widly with a right hand
and Newell counters with a stiff right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dirk takes one on the button. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Newell lands a glancing blow to the side of Dirk's head. Dirk walks into a stiff left hand from Newell.
Dirk is rocked! Dirk takes a body punch but keeps moving. Dirk misses with a hook to the body
and Newell counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Jab, jab by Newell - just one landing. Oh Dirk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! A head kick by Dirk misses and Newell counters with a nice body shot. Dirk throws a right hand that misses
and Newell makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Dirk seems to have got his legs back now. Jab, jab by Newell - just one landing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Newell with a nice cross. Dirk walks into a jab. Newell connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Dirk tumbling to the canvas! Newell pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Dirk was done - good stoppage!
