Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hamish McTavish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Vladimir Impaler! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Impaler slips under a jab. McTavish throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Impaler doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. McTavish throws a right hand that misses
and Impaler counters with a lovely straight right hand! McTavish takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Impaler defending well as McTavish loads up on a big left hand. Nice jab there from Impaler. Impaler bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Good standup being displayed there by Impaler as he connects with a hook.
It looks like Hamish McTavish has been cut. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. McTavish swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Impaler connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Impaler moves into range and connects with a jab. Vladimir Impaler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. McTavish misses with a body shot
and Impaler counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Impaler connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. McTavish waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Impaler. Impaler throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McTavish sees it coming and avoids it easily. McTavish misses with a hook
and Impaler counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
McTavish is rocked! McTavish decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Impaler has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but McTavish is on him like a limpet, forcing Impaler back against the cage. Oh McTavish is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Impaler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Impaler scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McTavish doesn't seem bothered though. McTavish seems to have got his legs back now. Vladimir Impaler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A jab from Impaler does it's job there. Impaler lands an uppercut out of nowhere! McTavish falls backwards - clearly groggy! Impaler dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vladimir Impaler!
