Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Aslanyan (ranked 3832 p4p, 0 weight class) and Woo Taehyung Kim (ranked 6177 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arthur Aslanyan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Woo Taehyung Kim!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aslanyan fails with the takedown.
Kim shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Aslanyan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kim did well to prevent Aslanyan getting side control.
Kim is pressing down on Aslanyan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aslanyan tries to stand but Kim is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aslanyan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kim, up you get!

Kim shoots for a double leg takedown but Aslanyan sprawls well. He's pushed Kim's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Aslanyan counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Arthur Aslanyan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Woo Taehyung Kim.

Aslanyan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kim tries to clinch up but Aslanyan circles away and keeps his distance.
Kim tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Aslanyan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A head kick by Aslanyan misses
and Kim counters with a series of strikes. Aslanyan will be more careful next time no doubt.
Kim darts in looking for a takedown but Aslanyan gets double underhooks and turns Kim into the cage.

Kim tries to keep at a distance but Aslanyan has taken the fight into the clinch.
Aslanyan prevents Kim from breaking the clinch.

Kim tries to pull guard but Aslanyan holds him up against the cage and eventually Kim drops back down to his feet.

Aslanyan drags the fight down to the ground.

Aslanyan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kim doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kim manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Aslanyan lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Aslanyan is pushing down on Kim's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kim is fighting to maintain full guard but Aslanyan has managed to sneak the leg through.
Kim wants to sweep but Aslanyan has passed to side control!

Aslanyan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Aslanyan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kim has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ground and pound from Aslanyan seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

The referee asks Aslanyan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Aslanyan prefers to stall for the moment though.
Aslanyan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Aslanyan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kim can do to turn this around?

Aslanyan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kim has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Aslanyan but great work by Kim.

Aslanyan slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Arthur Aslanyan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Aslanyan wants to control but Kim is keeping busy.

Kim wants to work for an arm triangle but Aslanyan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kim is breathing heavily.

Aslanyan tries to roll over but Kim keeps him under control.
Kim slips a nice elbow through Aslanyan's hands, connecting with Aslanyan's forehead.
Aslanyan is controlling Kim's trapped leg to prevent Kim from advancing to side control.
Aslanyan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Aslanyan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Aslanyan lands a nice short elbow.

Aslanyan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kim defends it well.

Kim is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Aslanyan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Kim jumps guard but Aslanyan stands there with Kim around his waist. Kim gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Aslanyan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Aslanyan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Aslanyan looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Kim is defending well. Aslanyan quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Kim has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Aslanyan celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
