PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Celininho Franco (ranked 4001 p4p, 393 weight class) and Gregor Clegane (ranked 7844 p4p, 589 weight class). Gregor Clegane told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clegane throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Clegane gets caught flat footed, as Franco shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've been hearing that Franco has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Clegane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Franco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Franco lands a nice short elbow.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Franco connects with a nice short shot to Clegane's temple.
Franco is looking to take a break and control but Clegane is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Franco has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Franco looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Clegane with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Clegane is in trouble now - Franco has advanced to mount!
Clegane is looking to improve his position but Franco isn't that keen on the idea.

Franco closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Clegane did well to prevent Franco getting side control.

Franco has hold of Clegane's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Clegane seems comfortable defending it but Franco has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Clegane is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Clegane is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Franco couldn't care less - he's delighted!
