Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Yang Xinhai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yamato Ishii!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Ron Honeybunn and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Ishii misses.
Ishii fails to land with a series of punches.
Ishii moves out of range as Xinhai strikes.
Xinhai throws a hook to the side of Ishii's head but Ishii sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Xinhai scores with a shot to the body.
Xinhai paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Xinhai just misses with a punch to the body.
Xinhai misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ishii throws a left and a right that both miss
and Xinhai counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ishii misses with a looping right.
Ishii misses with the combination.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ishii slips a straight right by Xinhai.
Ishii looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Ishii rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Xinhai moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Xinhai swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Xinhai ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ishii throws a left and a right that both miss
and Xinhai counters with a left to the body.
Xinhai cracks Ishii on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Ishii falls backwards against the cage. Xinhai follows up with more strikes that drop Ishii to his knees. Xinhai keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Ishii! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yang Xinhai!
A relieved looking Yang Xinhai thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Yamato Ishii had this to say: 'It is what it is'.
