Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maxwell Mathews (ranked 9493 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Steel (ranked 24197 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Steel will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel leaves Mathews with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Mathews counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Mathews seems to be working for a kimura but Steel defends the submission attempt.
Mathews will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That was a close second round but I would say that Maxwell Mathews will probably get the nod.

Steel is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mathews defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Well Steel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
