Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Francisco Lynch (ranked 8545 p4p, 0 weight class) and Parceval Alicarte (ranked 6052 p4p, 0 weight class). The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynch ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lynch tries to counter by clinching up but Alicarte breaks away and moves out of range.

It looks like Francisco Lynch has been cut.

Lynch's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Lynch counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Alicarte!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alicarte tries to get back to half guard but can't.
You can see the frustration on Alicarte's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lynch looks up at the clock and then as Alicarte takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lynch smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Alicarte manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lynch's best efforts.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lynch lands a nice short elbow.

Lynch wants to work for an arm triangle but Alicarte is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Lynch is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alicarte is just riding it out for now. Lynch eventually gives up the hold.

Alicarte working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lynch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lynch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lynch wants to get up but he can't break Alicarte's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Alicarte had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lynch defends it easily.

Lynch trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Lynch really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
