Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frank Wildhauser (ranked 3575 p4p, 388 weight class) and Flibberti Gibbet (ranked 4454 p4p, 471 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Wildhauser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Flibberti Gibbet!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wildhauser gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Gibbet counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gibbet stuffs the takedown.
Wildhauser fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Wildhauser. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd cheers as Gibbet lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wildhauser doesn't seem phased though.
Gibbet misses with a double jab.
Wildhauser doesn't manage to clinch there - Gibbet circles away.
It seemed like Gibbet was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Wildhauser throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gibbet's waist but Gibbet gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wildhauser off to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gibbet avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wildhauser tries to move into range but Gibbet moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Wildhauser wants to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gibbet pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Wildhauser back to the cage. Gibbet follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Gibbet has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Wildhauser takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Wildhauser shoots in for a takedown but Gibbet shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Wildhauser looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gibbet lands a lovely overhand right.
Wildhauser tries for a takedown but Gibbet circles away easily
and Gibbet counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wildhauser dives in for a single leg takedown but Gibbet sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice sprawl there from Gibbet as Wildhauser shoots in.
A countering left hand to the body from Gibbet misses.
Wildhauser drops his hands momentarily and Gibbet takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Wildhauser goes for a double leg but Gibbet avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gibbet continues to drive forward.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wildhauser tries to clinch but Gibbet moves out of range.
Wildhauser has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gibbet finds it's way round the side to connect with Wildhauser's head.
Wildhauser tries for a takedown but Gibbet circles away easily
and Gibbet cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


Wildhauser is rocked!
Gibbet fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Oh Wildhauser is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Frank Wildhauser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wildhauser shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gibbet counters with a huge left! Wildhauser is in big trouble! He's backing up but Gibbet isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Wildhauser from any more damage. A dominating finish by Gibbet!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Flibberti Gibbet!
Our winner, Flibberti Gibbet, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
