Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Clint Cartwright! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Enda OSullivan! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cartwright shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. OSullivan is trying to defend but Cartwright finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Cartwright winds up and cracks OSullivan with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cartwright is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. OSullivan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cartwright. OSullivan trying to control but Cartwright postures up.
Cartwright is looking to take a break and control but OSullivan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ground and pound from Cartwright. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cartwright working over OSullivan with some ground and pound. OSullivan looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Cartwright takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. OSullivan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cartwright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. OSullivan has hold of Cartwright's hands but Cartwright slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
OSullivan is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cartwright is nestled in close to OSullivan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. OSullivan is still in real trouble! Can Cartwright finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. Cartwright is trying to work for a kimura but OSullivan is defending well.
Cartwright is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

OSullivan seems to have recovered his senses. Cartwright working over OSullivan with some ground and pound. OSullivan looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Cartwright is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Cartwright looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks OSullivan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cartwright is looking for a kimura but OSullivan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cartwright to get the leverage. OSullivan taking some punishment here, with Cartwright in his half guard. OSullivan is defending against the submission attempts here by Cartwright.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cartwright connects with a nice short shot to OSullivan's temple.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. OSullivan is trying to stand.
OSullivan has hold of Cartwright's hands but Cartwright slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Cartwright is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, OSullivan is hurt! He's hurt bad - Cartwright fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save OSullivan from any more punishment! Congratulations to Cartwright! Great finish!
