Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Julian Day (ranked 22925 p4p, 226 weight class) and Oberion McKane (ranked 18010 p4p, 216 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Day! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Oberion McKane! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Day throws a body shot but no joy. McKane throws a body kick that misses. McKane takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
McKane only half commits to the counter leg kick. McKane on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Day dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on McKane. That did some damage! McKane slips a jab and a cross from Day.
Day definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. McKane feints and then cracks Day's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Day down. Day throws a head kick but McKane moves out of range.
Day throws a quick inside leg kick. McKane on the wrong end of a nice hook. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McKane has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Day looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Day scores with a nice head shot. Day swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Day takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McKane will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Day throws a series of punches but McKane moves out of range. McKane wants to counter with a clinch but Day pushes him away. Julian Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Day scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Day misses with a head kick.
McKane just misses with a punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Day throws a lazy uppercut
and McKane moves into the clinch. McKane pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Day lands with a kick to the temple. McKane shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" McKane lands a nice looking body shot.
McKane waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Day. Oberion McKane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Day pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces McKane back to the ropes. Day follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Day throws a series of punches but McKane avoids them all with ease. Day tried to score with a low kick but McKane checks it. McKane keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Day fakes the leg kick and cracks McKane in the body. Day lands with a thumping leg kick.
McKane moves out of range of the body kick. Day tries a head kick but it misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Day swings widly with a right hand
and McKane counters with a nice leg kick. A big left from McKane misses. Day swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McKane holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. A quick uppercut on the inside from McKane.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McKane lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Day. Day letting McKane take a breather here. McKane is working Day over against the ropes. McKane stalling against the ropes.
McKane misses with a hook to the ribs.
Day trying to control the position but instead, McKane has worked for underhooks and has pushed Day into the ropes. McKane lands on the inside with an uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Julian Day will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Day misses with a head kick.
McKane throws a solid leg kick but Day takes the impact on his shin and smiles at McKane. Day motions for McKane to come forward. Day throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. McKane swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McKane catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! Day stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? Day walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on! McKane just misses with a punch to the body.
McKane avoids a kick to the body.
Day throws a wild combination but nothing lands. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Day throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
McKane avoids the head kick by Day.
McKane instigates a clinch. McKane throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Days head. Both guys are working to get underhooks. McKane misses with a shot to the kidneys.
McKane lands a hook to the side of the head. McKane taking a breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. McKane misses with a punch to the body.
Day is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes. McKane working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. McKane has been the more effective fighter overall so far. McKane tries to work over Day's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. McKane lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Day or not. Both fighters working to control the clinch. McKane breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McKane uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Day.
Day uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Day on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. A nice inside leg kick there by Day. That's going to slow McKane down. The fight moves into the clinch position. McKane lands a right hand that snaps the head of Day backwards. McKane is leaning against Day and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. McKane makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. McKane lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Day. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Day trying to control the position but instead, McKane has worked for underhooks and has pushed Day into the ropes. A short right from McKane. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oberion McKane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

McKane is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Day rather than just go for the knockout. A head kick by Day misses and McKane counters into the clinch. Nicely done. McKane digs a right hand underneath Day's ribcage. Day let out a lung full of air as it connected. McKane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Day throws a hook but McKane avoids it easily. Ouch! a nice leg kick from McKane, right into the meat.
Day misses with a head kick.
McKane jabs Day to the body, keeping him at a distance. Day ducks into a a hook from McKane and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!
Day is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McKane moves out of range as Day throws a body kick.
Oberion McKane seems to be getting the better of the standup. Day throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McKane. McKane appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. McKane cracks Day with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Day is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Day is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine! Oh Day is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! McKane attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. McKane and Day are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. McKane throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Day into next week! Ooooh that was huge! McKane knows it - he's on the ropes flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Oberion McKane! A very excited looking Oberion McKane made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
