Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Break (ranked 6009 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Thompson (ranked 8470 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Paul Break has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Paul Break seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paul Break!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, George Thompson!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Break throws a one two combo.
Thompson fails with the takedown
and Break connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Thompson tries for a takedown but Break sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Thompson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Break scores with a head kick. Thompson tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Thompson dives in and grabs Break's left leg, looking for a takedown. Break pushes down on Thompson's head and hops out.
Paul Break has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Thompson.
Break shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Thompson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Break is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Break jumps guard and drags Thompson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Thompson wants to get up but he can't break Break's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Break utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Thompson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Thompson misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Break is looking to reverse the position.
Thompson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Break's shoulder. That is not cool.
Break throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Thompson landing strikes.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Thompson decides to stand back up. Thompson steps back and let's Break get back to his feet.

Thompson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Thompson shoots for a double leg takedown but Break sprawls well. He's pushed Thompson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Break wants to clinch up but Thompson keeps it at a distance.
Break stuffs the takedown.
Break moves in looking to clinch but Thompson pushes him off.
Thompson closes the distance and clinches up with Break, looking for a takedown. Thompson pushes Break against the cage but Break circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Break is looking to counter the offense by Thompson and move into the clinch.

Break closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Thompson quickly recovers to half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Thompson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Break tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Thompson.

That's time! Break's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nice takedown defense from Break. No joy for Thompson on that attempt.
Break shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Thompson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Break is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Thompson can do to turn this around?

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thompson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Break defends it easily.

Break looking to sit in guard and control but Thompson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Thompson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Break defends it nicely.

Break keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Paul Break has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Thompson.
Thompson is breathing heavily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Thompson or perhaps it was just good defense by Break, which made it look bad.
Paul Break is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Break decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Thompson manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Break throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Thompson.
Break tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thompson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Break shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Thompson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Thompson sneaks out the side door and pushes Break away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Break throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And Thompson tries to counter it with a takedown but Break pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Thompson fails with a takedown attempt.
Break swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Thompson.
The fight stays on the outside here - Break looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Thompson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Break napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thompson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Thompson fails with the takedown
and Break counters with a left and a right that stings Thompson.
Break stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Break wants it to stay on the feet.
Break rushes Thompson and presses him up against the cage.
Break breaks from the clinch.
Thompson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Break is fending him off so far but Thompson persists. Nope, Break circles away and we're back to standing.
Break gets a takedown into half guard.
Thompson kicks Break off and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but George Thompson will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Break's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Thompson counters by clinching up.
Thompson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Break gets underhooks to prevent Thompson's takedown attempt.
Thompson wants to take the fight to the mat but Break manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Thompson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Break uses from the top position.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Thompson holds on and takes a little breather.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Break is squirming around, avoiding Thompson's attempts to control the action.

Thompson takes Break's back, avoiding a couple of desperation strikes from the bottom.
Break is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Thompson has good solid back control here.
Thompson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Break is defending well though. Thompson let's go of the attempt for now.
Thompson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Break has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Break is trying to control the position but Thompson manages to sink in the RNC - Break is forced to tap!
