Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Jose Pacheco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Demarte Pena! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pena thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Pacheco if he has to take too many more of those.
Pena forces Pacheco back against the cage and clinches. Pena lands a right hand that snaps the head of Pacheco backwards. Pena prevents a takedown attempt there.
Pena stalls. Pacheco has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Pena after a bit of a struggle. Pena controlling the action here for a moment.
Pena jumps into guard, dragging Pacheco to the mat.
Pacheco controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Pacheco thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pena wants to sweep here but Pacheco controlling him for the moment. Pena is looking to control Pacheco's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pena avoid being mounted? Pacheco looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pacheco wants to take a breather but Pena is having none of it. Pena misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Pacheco really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pena is trying to stand back up but Pacheco is controlling him

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pena is not content to let Pacheco control the position. Pena is looking for a sweep. Pacheco is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pacheco wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pena keeps working. Pena looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pena looking for submissions off his back. Pacheco throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pacheco lands strikes from half guard. Pena is defending against the submission attempts here by Pacheco.

That was a close round but I would say that Jose Pacheco will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Pacheco shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pena manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Pacheco advances position into side control! Pena is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Pacheco is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Pacheco sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Pacheco prevents Pena from getting the reversal. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pena wants to hold on but Pacheco pushes him away. Pacheco working for a submission but Pena is keeping him at bay. Pena throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Pacheco can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pena is looking to escape. Pacheco avoids the attempt from Pena to control.

Pacheco wants to take Pena's back here but Pena is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Pena tries to control Pacheco's body but Pacheco pushes him off. Pena squirms to his side and now Pacheco has his back! Pena trying to control the action but Pacheco just sinks the hooks in. Pena is really stuck here.
Pena looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Pacheco is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Pena's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Pacheco thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Pena tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
