Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alistair Verhoeven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyce Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson wants to clinch.
Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Verhoeven pushes him off.
Johnson is looking to clinch.
Johnson misses the shot to the body.
Johnson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Verhoeven counters with a left to the body.
Verhoeven misses with a head kick.
Johnson tries to clinch but Verhoeven moves out of range.
Verhoeven swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Verhoeven could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A shot to the body from Johnson misses

and Verhoeven counters by moving into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson breaks the clinch.
Johnson tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Verhoeven manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Verhoeven keeps the fight on the outside.
Tyce Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Johnson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson wants to clinch up but Verhoeven keeps it at a distance.
Johnson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Johnson tries to clinch there but Verhoeven circles away.

Verhoeven gets tackled into the ropes by Johnson. Johnson maintains the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Verhoeven as Johnson tries to tie him up.
Johnson lands with a short shot to the head.
Verhoeven tries a knee to the head but Johnson blocks it.
Verhoeven with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Johnson breaks the clinch.
Johnson tries to clinch up.
Verhoeven throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.
Verhoeven throws a body shot but no joy.
Verhoeven throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson.
Johnson lands a jab to Verhoeven's midsection.
Verhoeven lands with an overhand left.
Verhoeven swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Verhoeven takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


It looks like Alistair Verhoeven has been cut.

Johnson clinches with his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Johnson lands an uppercut.

Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Verhoeven tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Johnson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Johnson gets through Verhoeven's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
With the fighters up against the ropes, Johnson throws an elbow but misses.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A left lands for Johnson.
Verhoeven throws a head kick that misses.
Verhoeven circles away from the clinch attempt.
Johnson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Verhoeven keeps the fight on the outside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tyce Johnson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Alistair Verhoeven's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Johnson tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Verhoeven manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Verhoeven circles away.
Johnson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Verhoeven on the side of the head.

Verhoeven has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.
Johnson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Verhoeven backwards.


Verhoeven is rocked!
Verhoeven looking to throw knees to the head but Johnson is blocking nicely.
Oh Verhoeven is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Verhoeven lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Verhoeven seems to have got his legs back now.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Verhoeven gets a clinch.
Johnson creates a bit of distance and cracks Verhoeven with a big uppercut! Verhoeven goes down! The referee pushes Johnson away into a neutral corner and starts the count. 4,5,6,7. Will Verhoeven make it up in time? He's still flopping around all over the place! The referee has called off the fight! Johnson takes it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Tyce Johnson!
