Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nathaniel Fredo! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hoddy McNeal! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fredo throws a body shot but no joy. A slow jab from Fredo misses its intended target. McNeal lands a left and a right that send Fredo crashing to the mat, dazed. McNeal thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Fredo is rocked!
It looks like Nathaniel Fredo has been cut. Fredo throws a body shot but no joy. Oh Fredo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fredo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McNeal. Fredo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McNeal. Fredo changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Fredo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McNeal throws out the jab. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Fredo ducks under a wild hook from McNeal. Fredo feinted with a counter takedown. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fredo misses with the combination.
A nice side step and McNeal releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Fredo misses with an uppercut. Fredo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. McNeal slips under a jab. Nathaniel Fredo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fredo throws an off balance right hand
and McNeal counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hoddy McNeal! Hoddy McNeal is the new featherweight champion! After winning the bout, Hoddy McNeal thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
