Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Smith (ranked 2520 p4p, 287 weight class) and Ryo Tanaka (ranked 2671 p4p, 304 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith has a takedown stuffed.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Tanaka enables Smith to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tanaka manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Smith postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tanaka is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smith, into his guard.
Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tanaka can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Tanaka trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smith is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tanaka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Tanaka slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Tanaka trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.
Smith working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Tanaka has passed into half guard!

Smith moves into full guard.
Tanaka is posturing up here but Smith has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Tanaka tries to roll out but it's too tight and Tanaka has to tap! Slick submission there by Smith!
