Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lazar Markov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Anderson.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Markov.
Markov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Anderson as he jumps to the side.
Anderson has a takedown stuffed.
Markov attempts a counter takedown but Anderson avoids it well and moves away.
Markov dives in and grabs Anderson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Anderson pushes down on Markov's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lazar Markov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Markov stuffs the takedown.
Markov half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Markov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Horrible takedown attempt by Markov or perhaps it was just good defense by Anderson, which made it look bad.

Markov tries to bench press Anderson off him but Anderson keeps the position.
Markov wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Markov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Anderson is looking to take a break and control but Markov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Anderson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Markov is surviving well by controlling Anderson's body position as best he can.

Anderson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Markov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Markov wants to get back to his feet but Anderson passes into half guard.

Anderson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Markov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Markov wants to get back to full guard but Anderson has passed into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Markov is being controlled here.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Anderson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Markov to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Markov is looking for a sweep. Anderson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Markov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Markov wants to sweep but no luck.

Anderson controls from within his opponent's guard.
Markov has momentary wrist control but Anderson slips an elbow through the middle.
Anderson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Markov's guard.

Markov looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Anderson has picked Markov up and slammed him! Markov can't keep hold of the triangle and Anderson manages to pass to side control!

Anderson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Anderson is working for a guillotine from mount but Markov frees his head quite easily.
Markov is trying desperately to improve position.

Markov has left one of his arms exposed and Anderson doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Markov screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
