Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markovic throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cherry was covering up waiting for the punch and Markovic finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Cherry can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Markovic controls the pace.
Markovic in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cherry is trying to keep Markovic in close.
Cherry throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Markovic throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Markovic trying to control the position from guard on top but Cherry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cherry might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Markovic is in close to Cherry's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Markovic is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cherry is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cherry has escaped and now he's on top!

Markovic pulls Cherry in close to prevent any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cherry accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Markovic has control of Cherry's left arm, preventing Cherry from doing any damage.
Cherry throws a big elbow that misses.
Cherry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cherry working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Markovic bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cherry's guard.
Cherry throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Cherry looking for a guillotine here but Markovic defends easily.
Markovic working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Markovic's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Markovic throws a strike but Cherry rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Markovic seems keen to control Cherry's posture.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Markovic is on top in guard.
Markovic wants to control from the top but Cherry keeps moving.
Markovic forces his way into half guard.
Markovic looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cherry with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Markovic lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Markovic is nestled in close to Cherry, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Cherry is rocked!

Markovic gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Oh Cherry is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Markovic shoots in for a takedown. SLAM! Brutal! Cherry is out cold and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Nikola Markovic!
Nikola Markovic spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
