Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alan Markov!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howlett lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Markov backs up against the cage.
Howlett swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Markov fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Howlett misses with a double jab
and Markov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Markov bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Markov thuds his shin into the meat of Howlett's side.
Markov connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Markov takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
We've been hearing reports that Howlett has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Markov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Markov feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Howlett's calf.

and Markov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Howlett is breathing heavily.
Howlett's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Markov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Howlett scrambles back to his feet.
Nice uppercut lands for Markov. That snapped Howlett's head back.
Both fighters circling a little - Markov finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Markov darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Some wild striking there from Howlett.
Howlett swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Markov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Howlett is rocked!
Markov lands an uppercut, right on the button! Howlett tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
