Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikko Oinonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for David Joe has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Joe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mikko Oinonen! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Oinonen misses with an uppercut. Joe saw that one coming. Oinonen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Joe shoots for a takedown but Oinonen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Oinonen pushes Joe up against the cage in a clinch. Oinonen connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like David Joe has been cut. A right hook to the body lands for Oinonen.
Joe is breathing heavily. A knee to the head by Oinonen.
Oinonen scores with an uppercut up the middle. Oinonen unloads a knee to the mid-section. Joe lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice elbow from Oinonen. Oinonen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Oinonen drives through with a powerful takedown. That's hurt Joe! Oinonen stands and steps away. Joe gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Oinonen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Oinonen throws out a loose jab but Joe uses good head movement to avoid it. Oinonen catches Joe napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Joe to the canvas!
Joe is rocked! Oinonen is stalling in the full guard. Oinonen wants to get up but he can't break Joe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Oinonen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oinonen throwing strikes from guard but Joe blocks nicely. Oinonen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Joe looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Joe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Oinonen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oinonen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Joe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oinonen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Joe wants to sweep here but Oinonen controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joe trying to control the position.
Joe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Joe is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Joe has his foot on Oinonen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Oinonen works his way back into a safe position though. Joe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Oinonen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Joe had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Oinonen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Joe Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Oinonen's back instead. Oinonen is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Joe is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Oinonen has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Joe has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Oinonen taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Joe doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). David Joe!
