Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alan Patton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juan Kebenunha! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kebenunha looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Kebenunha controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Patton is on top in guard.
Patton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Patton throwing strikes but missing. Patton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kebenunha manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Patton manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kebenunha stands and steps away. Patton gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Kebenunha closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Patton's guard. Kebenunha is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kebenunha trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kebenunha must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Patton keeping moving, preventing Kebenunha from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kebenunha wants to control from the top but Patton keeps moving.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Kebenunha fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Patton fails to land with a series of punches.
As Patton backs off Kebenunha throws a huge counter combo but Patton manages to avoid it all. Kebenunha clinches with his opponent.
Kebenunha looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kebenunha is trying to break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice glancing elbow lands by Patton. Kebenunha gets a trip takedown into half guard. Patton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Still in half guard, Kebenunha seems content to control. Patton is looking to control Kebenunha's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Patton avoid being mounted? Patton makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Kebenunha closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Kebenunha wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Patton pulls guard. Kebenunha throws a strike but Patton rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kebenunha wants to stand but Patton is controlling the position. Patton working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kebenunha's head. Patton stands up and waves to Kebenunha to follow him. Kebenunha closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Patton quickly recovers to half guard. Patton pushes Kebenunha off and gets back to his feet. Kebenunha tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Patton was well out of range. Poor timing from Kebenunha. Kebenunha closes the distance and pushes Patton back into the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alan Patton will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Kebenunha shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Patton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Patton can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kebenunha controls the pace. Kebenunha tries to free his leg and advance position but Patton is retaining full guard. Kebenunha is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Patton is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Patton has escaped and now he's on top! Patton scoring with punches to the head and body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kebenunha preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kebenunha working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Patton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Patton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kebenunha has momentary wrist control but Patton slips an elbow through the middle. Patton throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kebenunha works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kebenunha looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kebenunha is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Patton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Patton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kebenunha trying to control the position.
Kebenunha is looking to stand back up but Patton counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kebenunha. Kebenunha trying to control from the bottom.
Kebenunha wants to improve his position but Patton is controlling well.
Kebenunha is breathing heavily. Patton prevents Kebenunha from standing back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Patton throws an overhand right that lands on Kebenunha's shoulder, as Kebenunha tries to avoid the shot. Patton takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Kebenunha changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Patton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Patton throws Kebenunha to one side and escapes!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kebenunha manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Patton on his heels. He'll look to pass Patton's guard now, I'm sure. Patton has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Kebenunha has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Patton jumps into guard, dragging Kebenunha to the mat.
Kebenunha wants to control from the top but Patton keeps moving. Kebenunha being controlled here momentarily. Kebenunha postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kebenunha stopping the sweep attempt from Patton. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Patton trying to control the position here. Kebenunha wants to pass the guard but Patton is keeping the position. Kebenunha is still trying to improve position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kebenunha lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kebenunha. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alan Patton dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Kebenunha seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Patton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Patton is trying to stand up here but Kebenunha is controlling him well. Kebenunha wants to pass to mount but Patton is defending the position. Kebenunha seems to be working for a kimura but Patton defends the submission attempt. Kebenunha takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kebenunha wants to pass the guard but Patton is defending well. Patton is trying to stand back up but Kebenunha is controlling him

Kebenunha wants to get back to his feet but Patton is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Patton cracks Kebenunha with a solid left hand. Patton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Patton is looking to work some ground and pound but Kebenunha has wrist control. Patton postures up and lands a big shot to Kebenunha's brow. Kebenunha striking from the bottom here. Patton is working Kebenunha over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
