Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leopoldo Sanchez (ranked 8761 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Wheeler (ranked 5757 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leopoldo Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Wheeler! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez tries to sprawl but Wheeler drives through with a takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Sanchez tries to kick Wheeler off but Wheeler keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Wheeler trying to pass the guard but Sanchez defending well. Sanchez is trying to control but Wheeler manages to pass to mount!
Sanchez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Sanchez is desperately trying to improve his position but Wheeler has a good base and remains in mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchez is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wheeler avoids the attempt from Sanchez to control. Sanchez is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wheeler pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wheeler looking to control but Sanchez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Wheeler lands a big shot there that rocks Sanchez but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Wheeler controlling his opponent. Sanchez wants to hold on but Wheeler pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wheeler landing shots from mount.
Sanchez is rocked! Wheeler is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Sanchez is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Sanchez flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Wheeler anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Sanchez and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Wheeler slips an arm under Sanchez chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Wheeler has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Wheeler is squeezing on Sanchez like an anaconda would it's prey. Sanchez fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ryan Wheeler!
