Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tracy Glover! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rado Boy! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Glover looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Boy throws a half hearted mid kick. Boy throws a leg kick but Glover checks it. Boy stuffs the takedown. Boy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Glover fails in his attempt to clinch. Glover closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Boy to the mat! Boy manages to get full guard. Glover wants to stand and escape but instead Boy has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boy chips away with some ground and pound. Boy sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Boy's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Glover knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boy on the ground. Boy chips away with some ground and pound. Boy looking to pass the guard. Boy engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Boy wants to stand but Glover has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Glover tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Glover can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Boy controls the pace. Boy preventing the sweep. Boy forces his way into half guard. Still in half guard, Boy seems content to control. Boy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boy moves nicely into side control. Boy tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Boy content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Boy working the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Boy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Boy tries to advance to mount but Glover denies him. Boy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Boy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Glover is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Boy's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Boy! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Glover has tapped! This one is allllll over!
