PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Floyd Dorsey (ranked 5977 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aron Reak (ranked 6284 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Floyd Dorsey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Aron Reak!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reak is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dorsey sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dorsey went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
A head kick by Reak misses
and Dorsey counters with a right hand to the body.
Reak shoots in looking for a takedown. Dorsey tries to sprawl out of it but Reak keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dorsey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Reak tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dorsey swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Reak tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dorsey manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Reak lands a body shot.
Reak lands with a thumping leg kick.
Reak pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Dorsey shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Dorsey was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Reak tries to buck Dorsey off but Dorsey is having none of it.
Reak tries to escape but Dorsey is in control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dorsey lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Reak down.

Dorsey tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Reak seems a little lost for a moment, as Dorsey dominates the positioning.
Reak throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Reak throws a few strikes from the bottom but Dorsey takes advantage and mounts!
Dorsey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Reak has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.

Dorsey is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Dorsey is riding his opponent, not letting Reak buck him off.

Reak can't escape the position.
Dorsey has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Reak's body.

Reak tries to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reak trying to control the action but Dorsey just sinks the hooks in.

Dorsey has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Reak has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Reak just trying to survive but Dorsey is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dorsey looking to break Reak's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Reak remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Dorsey will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Reak just trying to survive but Dorsey is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Reak is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Dorsey is staying active.
Reak can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Floyd Dorsey dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Dorsey closes the distance and pushes Reak back into the cage.

Dorsey turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Reak bucks up and tries to throw Dorsey off but instead Dorsey has got his back!
Dorsey is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Reak can do to turn this around?

I would not like to be Reak right now.
I really don't envy Reak right now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reak wants to control his opponent's hands but Dorsey gets his hands free.
Reak is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Dorsey controls the position.
Reak is trying to break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Reak is breathing heavily.

Dorsey is working for a rear naked choke. Reak is not defending it well and Dorsey has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Reak refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Reak's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Floyd Dorsey!
