Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matthew Embree! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Thongchai Kiatmookao! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Embree displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kiatmookao. Kiatmookao shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Embree pinned against the cage. Embree gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nice takedown defense from Kiatmookao. No joy for Embree on that attempt. Embree fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kiatmookao raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Embree stuffs the takedown. Embree wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Matthew Embree has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thongchai Kiatmookao. Kiatmookao defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Embree. Kiatmookao fails to land the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiatmookao misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Embree with a lazy takedown attempt and Kiatmookao counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kiatmookao. Kiatmookao is defending well against a takedown attempt. Embree jumps guard but Kiatmookao stands there with Embree around his waist. Embree gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Embree tries to pull guard but Kiatmookao holds him up against the cage and eventually Embree drops back down to his feet.
Kiatmookao goes for a takedown attempt but Embree pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Embree moves into the clinch. Kiatmookao manages to break the clinch.
Kiatmookao shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Embree as he avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Embree ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kiatmookao moves away. Kiatmookao throws a counter combo. Kiatmookao fails with the takedown. Embree misses with a low kick. Embree misses with a takedown attempt - Kiatmookao sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kiatmookao instigates a clinch. Embree pulls guard successfully.
Embree working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Kiatmookao has passed into half guard!

Kiatmookao is thwarting Embree's attempts to control the position. Embree knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kiatmookao on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Embree is looking for a sweep. Kiatmookao is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kiatmookao looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Kiatmookao thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Embree regains full guard. Nicely done. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kiatmookao postures up.
Kiatmookao tries to stand but Embree is controlling from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kiatmookao shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Embree pinned against the cage. Embree gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Matthew Embree will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Embree gets a clinch. Kiatmookao lands with a short head shot on the inside. Kiatmookao manages to break the clinch.
Kiatmookao misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Embree tries to counter by clinching up but Kiatmookao breaks away and moves out of range. Kiatmookao lands a two punch combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Embree fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kiatmookao to the ground. Embree is now in Kiatmookao's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Embree trying to control but Kiatmookao is working from the bottom. Embree has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Embree seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Embree sitting in guard, not really doing much. Embree throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kiatmookao works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Embree stopping the sweep attempt from Kiatmookao. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Embree is looking to stand up but Kiatmookao won't let him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kiatmookao changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Embree tries to avoid it but Kiatmookao manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Embree to the ground. Embree escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Embree shoots in looking for a takedown. Kiatmookao tries to sprawl out of it but Embree keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kiatmookao manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kiatmookao blocks the body kick.

Embree lands a nice hook to Kiatmookao's body. Kiatmookao takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Embree wants to clinch. Embree moves to clinch but Kiatmookao breaks away and Kiatmookao counters with a three punch combo that has Embree backing up. Embree nods at Kiatmookao to acknowledge the strikes. Embree looks to land a combination. Kiatmookao sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Embree shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kiatmookao as he avoids it easily. Kiatmookao moves in looking to clinch but Embree pushes him off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Embree closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kiatmookao circles away. Embree uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kiatmookao.
A looping hook to the body misses from Embree. Kiatmookao does a little dance to reset his feet. Embree looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kiatmookao is fending him off so far but Embree persists. Nope, Kiatmookao circles away and we're back to standing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kiatmookao shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Embree sprawls well. Embree wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kiatmookao gets slowly back to his feet. Embree stuffs the takedown attempt from Kiatmookao. Kiatmookao gets slowly back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Embree tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kiatmookao swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kiatmookao drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Embree defends it well. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kiatmookao avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Embree shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kiatmookao as he jumps to the side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Thongchai Kiatmookao will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Embree. Embree shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kiatmookao counters by clinching up. Kiatmookao tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Embree's elbow. Kiatmookao presses Embree against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Embree letting Kiatmookao take a breather here. Kiatmookao ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kiatmookao no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Embree preventing the sweep. Embree cracks Kiatmookao with a solid left hand. Kiatmookao bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Embree's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Embree isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kiatmookao stacks Embree on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kiatmookao! Embree struggling a bit here. Kiatmookao wants to stand but Embree has his arm trapped. Embree is looking to reverse the position. Kiatmookao taking a breather here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Embree tries to bench press Kiatmookao off him but Kiatmookao keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kiatmookao wants to stand but Embree has his arm trapped. Embree wants to control but Kiatmookao postures up. Kiatmookao throws an elbow but Embree slips to the side and avoids it well. Kiatmookao wants to control but Embree is keeping him busy. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

And that's the end of the fight! Thongchai Kiatmookao comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kiatmookao has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
