Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawid Kasperski (ranked 3458 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dongsu Kim (ranked 3405 p4p, 0 weight class). Dawid Kasperski has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dawid Kasperski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dongsu Kim!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kasperski tries to counter by clinching up but Kim breaks away and moves out of range.
Kim misses with a takedown
letting Kasperski counter with a right hand.
Kasperski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kim.
Kasperski is looking for a counter combo.
Kim bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kasperski's head.
Kasperski lands a head kick!
Kasperski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kim tries to avoid it but Kasperski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kim to the ground. Kim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kasperski throws a nice looking combination but Kim bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kim drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kasperski defends it well.
Nice sprawl there from Kasperski as Kim shoots in.
Dawid Kasperski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dongsu Kim.

Kasperski closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Kasperski tries to stall but Kim uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Kasperski pushes off an throws an elbow but Kim leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Kim tries a knee to the head but Kasperski blocks it.

Kim pulls guard successfully.
Kim is looking to stand back up but Kasperski counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kim.
Kim is looking to control Kasperski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kim avoid being mounted?
It looks like Kasperski is going to stand back up.

Kim avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kasperski.

Kasperski is trying to control. Kim wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Kasperski has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Kim works to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kim is on top in guard.

Kasperski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Kim has managed to clinch.

Kasperski slaps away a takedown attempt from Kim, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kim avoids the head kick by Kasperski.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kim moves into the clinch successfully.
Kasperski doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kasperski is trying to break the clinch but Kim is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kasperski is looking to clinch but Kim is avoiding it.
Kim fails to land the takedown.
As Kim tries to get set, Kasperski tries to push him back and clinch up but Kim manages to avoid the attempt.
Kim shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kasperski counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kim thinking.

Kasperski throws a big counter combination but Kim scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Kim misses with a head kick.
Dawid Kasperski is winning the standup battle so far.
Kasperski fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Kasperski counters with a straight right hand.

Kasperski shoots for a takedown but Kim saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kasperski tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kim paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kim leaves Kasperski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Despite the aggression on Kim's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Kasperski shoots and misses
and Kim counters with a two punch combo.

Kim moves into the clinch.
Kim has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kasperski after a bit of a struggle.

Kim is trying to pull guard but Kasperski turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Kim is breathing heavily.

Kim breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kasperski looks for a takedown but Kim sprawls well.
Kasperski swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kasperski. Kim does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kasperski tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Kim counters with a shoot takedown. Kasperski fights it but they end up in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kim wants to control from the top but Kasperski keeps moving.

Kasperski is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Kasperski is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kim slips nicely into half guard.
Kasperski tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Kim has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Kim wants to control the pace but Kasperski is squirming around nicely.

Kim jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kasperski manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Kasperski prevents Kim from moving into mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kasperski is not content to let Kim control the position.
Kim tries to move to mount but Kasperski blocks the move with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dongsu Kim showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Kasperski doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kim counters by moving into the clinch.
Kasperski drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kim will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kasperski up against the cage.
Kim is working Kasperski over against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kim is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Kasperski jumps guard but Kim stands there with Kasperski around his waist. Kasperski gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kim tries to score a body lock takedown but Kasperski shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Horrible takedown attempt by Kim or perhaps it was just good defense by Kasperski, which made it look bad.

Kasperski won't allow Kim to sweep him here.
Kasperski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kasperski wants to control from the top but Kim keeps moving.
Kim looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Kim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kasperski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kasperski stays in close to Kim's body and controls the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kasperski tries to free his leg and advance position but Kim is retaining full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dongsu Kim comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kim has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
