These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gazimov tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gazimov wants to clinch.
Gazimov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gazimov moves to clinch but Smith breaks away
and Smith counters with a straight right hand.
Gazimov staying out of range there.
Smith lands a body shot.
Gazimov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith misses with a looping left.
Smith throws a lazy right hand but Gazimov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
It looked like Gazimov was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Smith.
A jab from Smith finds it's way through Gazimov's defenses.
Gazimov misses with a hook to the body
and Smith counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gazimov thinking.
Smith digs a good body shot into Gazimov's ribs.
Smith drops Gazimov with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Gazimov looks back up at him and smiles so Smith waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Gazimov is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gazimov moves to clinch but Smith breaks away
and Smith counters with a huge right that knocks Gazimov out cold! Smith is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
