Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Verbeek misses with a left hand and Seok counters with a takedown into side control. Seok cracks Verbeek with an elbow. That is naaassty. Seok tries to advance to mount but can't. Seok controlling from side mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Seok working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Seok is looking to take a break and control but Verbeek is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Verbeek's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Verbeek takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Verbeek is looking for a sweep. Seok wants to lay and pray for a moment but Verbeek keeps working. Verbeek is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Verbeek can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Seok tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Verbeek is not content to let Seok control the position. Seok looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Verbeek sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Seok is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Seok trying to control from half guard but Verbeek is working away. Seok looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Seok in particular looking to stall.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Verbeek on the wrong end of a nice hook. Seok uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Verbeek. Verbeek connects with a single shot there. Seok tests Verbeek's chin there with a solid looking shot. Seok scores with a jab to the body. Seok looks to score with a jab to the body but Verbeek is just out of range. Verbeek throws out a counter right but Seok avoids it with no problem. Seok cracks Verbeek with a right hand to the side of the head. Verbeek swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Seok. Seok displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Seok waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Verbeek. Seok walks into a jab. Seok chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Verbeek can pounce on him.
Seok bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Seok changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Seok fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Nice defenses there by Seok. Good work by Seok as he checks the leg kick. Seok half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Seok uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Verbeek ducks under a wild hook from Seok. Seok looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Seok is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Verbeek can do to turn this around? Seok has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Seok there as he acknowledges the shot.

Seok drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Seok misses with a looping right. Verbeek misses with a low kick. Seok changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Seok misses with a straight right. Seok throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Verbeek counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Verbeek tries to work over Seok's front leg with a kick but Seok checks it. Seok throws a hook to the side of Verbeek's head but Verbeek sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A slow jab from Verbeek misses its intended target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Verbeek walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. A chopping leg kick lands by Verbeek. Pat Verbeek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Verbeek throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Seok half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Seok connects with a single shot there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Verbeek staying out of range there. Verbeek dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Seok. That did some damage! Verbeek misses with a body shot.

Verbeek looks to land a left hand but Seok moved out of range nicely. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Verbeek, as that shot connected.

A low kick from Verbeek is predictable there and Seok counters with a nice double leg into side control. Verbeek won't be happy with that. Seok is trying to get an arm triangle but Verbeek is defending well. Seok fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lee Sang Seok will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Verbeek moves forwards but Seok connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd cheers as Seok lands an impressive looking overhand right. Verbeek doesn't seem phased though. Verbeek throws an ugly left hook that misses
so Seok counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Seok looking to pass the guard. Seok not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Seok throws an elbow that misses. Verbeek uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Seok's guard. Nice move by Verbeek! Seok looking to control.
Verbeek stays in close to Seok's body and controls the position. Pat Verbeek has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lee Sang Seok is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. That's four minutes gone in the round. Seok is pushing down on Verbeek's leg trying to pass to half guard. Verbeek is fighting to maintain full guard but Seok has managed to sneak the leg through. Seok slows the pace down in half guard. Seok seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Verbeek for as long as he can get away with.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lee Sang Seok. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Seok, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
