Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brian Jones (ranked 305 p4p, 7 weight class) and Johnny Pearson (ranked 463 p4p, 14 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Take my hand. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brian Jones! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Pearson! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jones moves out of range as Pearson throws a body kick.
Pearson keeps Jones at a distance using the push kick. Pearson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Pearson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Jones shoots for a takedown but Pearson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. We've been informed that Pearson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Pearson throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Pearson clinches up against the cage. Pearson lands an elbow just above Jones 's eye. Jones is working for takedown but Pearson is calmly controlling the position for now. Pearson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jones backwards. Pearson throws a head punch that misses. Jones has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pearson uses from the top position. Pearson throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Pearson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jones doesn't seem bothered though. Pearson thows a left - swing and a miss! The fight moves into the clinch position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice elbow from Pearson. Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Pearson sneaks out the side door and pushes Jones away - he's back to his feet. Johnny Pearson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Jones blocks a body shot from Pearson. Jones looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Pearson misses with a hook from the clinch. Pearson lands an elbow just above Jones 's eye. Jones unloads a knee to the mid-section. Pearson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones lands a body shot in the clinch.
