Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Clark Kent (ranked 261 p4p, 31 weight class) and Pat Verbeek (ranked 385 p4p, 49 weight class). Kent comes to the cage accompanied by Save Me - Remy Zero (Smallville Theme). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clark Kent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pat Verbeek! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Verbeek misses the body punch and Kent counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Kent throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Verbeek has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Kent misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Verbeek.

Jab, jab by Kent - just one landing. Verbeek shoots for a double leg takedown but Kent sprawls well. He's pushed Verbeek's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Verbeek's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Verbeek duly obliges. Kent takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Clark Kent has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Verbeek misses the jab. Kent throws a looping overhand right but Verbeek ducks down to avoid it. Verbeek follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Kent throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Verbeek thinks about the counter body kick. Verbeek thumps Kent with a low kick. Verbeek throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Verbeek replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Kent blocks it well. Verbeek throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kent is trying to maintain the position but Verbeek is very close to passing his half guard. Kent is looking for a sweep. Verbeek is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kent is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Kent throws a looping overhand right but Verbeek ducks down to avoid it. Verbeek appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Verbeek staying out of range there. Verbeek throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Verbeek lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kent circles away quickly and effectively. Verbeek misses with a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Donk. Kent catches Verbeek right on the button with a cross. Verbeek misses with a looping left. Kent is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Verbeek. Good standup being displayed there by Kent as he connects with a hook. Kent moves forwards but Verbeek connects with a nice, crisp jab. Verbeek scores with a head kick.
Verbeek scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kent doesn't seem bothered though. Nice takedown defense from Kent. No joy for Verbeek on that attempt. Kent leaves Verbeek with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kent throwing a counter right hand but Verbeek manages to avoid it. Clark Kent has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pat Verbeek. A looping hook to the body misses from Kent. Verbeek does a little dance to reset his feet. Verbeek swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Kent fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Verbeek manages to avoid it. Verbeek thinks about the counter body kick. Verbeek feints and then cracks Kent's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kent down. Kent cracks a nice hook into Verbeek's ribs. Verbeek stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Kent swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Verbeek lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Kent misses the shot to the body. Verbeek lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Kent throws a hook to the side of Verbeek's head but Verbeek sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. It seemed like Verbeek was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Verbeek wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Kent misses with a low kick. Kent with a jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kent lands with an uppercut that bounces Verbeek off the cage and back into range. Verbeek throws a sloppy head kick and Kent moves out of range easily.

Verbeek throws a body shot but no joy. Verbeek slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Kent jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Verbeek closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kent pushes Verbeek off and gets back to his feet. Kent is looking to chop away at Verbeek's legs. Verbeek was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Kent throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Verbeek lands a nice hook to Kent's body. Kent takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. A big left from Kent misses. Kent looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Verbeek throws a nice outside leg kick. Verbeek misses with a wild body shot. A swing and a miss from Kent.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Pat Verbeek. I've got Verbeek winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Clark Kent was interviewed post fight and said 'You must have had kryptonite! How else could you have bested Superman? Maybe you were taught by Batman himself...'.
