Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Osterman (ranked 17441 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Dos Santos (ranked 18163 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kevin Osterman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Junior Dos Santos! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Osterman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dos Santos is trying to defend but Osterman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Osterman decides to stand up. Osterman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Osterman wants to stand but Dos Santos has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Osterman prevents Dos Santos from improving his position. Dos Santos tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Osterman has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Osterman avoids the attempt from Dos Santos to control. Dos Santos keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Osterman is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Dos Santos moves out of range of the body kick. Osterman misses with a looping left. Osterman throws a right hand that Dos Santos ducks under and follows up with a left that Dos Santos also avoids with ease. Dos Santos with the counter takedown but Osterman avoids it easily. Osterman clobbers Dos Santos with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
That has opened up Junior Dos Santos's cut even more. Osterman throws a hook but Dos Santos blocks it. Dos Santos is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Osterman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dos Santos moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A countering left hand to the body from Dos Santos misses. A slapping leg kick lands for Osterman.
Osterman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Dos Santos with the counter takedown but Osterman avoids it easily. Osterman throws a leg kick and Dos Santos counters with a nice double leg into side control. Osterman won't be happy with that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dos Santos swings around for an armbar but Osterman sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dos Santos's guard.

Osterman stands up and waves to Dos Santos to follow him. No luck with that takedown attempt from Dos Santos. Osterman drives through with a takedown into guard. Dos Santos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dos Santos is on top in guard.
Dos Santos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Dos Santos trying to control the position from guard on top but Osterman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Osterman is keeping the position for now. Osterman avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dos Santos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dos Santos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Osterman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Dos Santos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Osterman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Osterman is looking to stand up but Dos Santos isn't so interested in that idea. Dos Santos throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Osterman is trying to keep Dos Santos in close.
Dos Santos controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Dos Santos throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Osterman works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dos Santos loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Dos Santos missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Dos Santos wants to control from the top but Osterman keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. No joy there for Osterman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dos Santos tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Osterman throws out a loose jab but Dos Santos uses good head movement to avoid it. Dos Santos feints the counter takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevin Osterman dominated that round. The cut man is working on Junior Dos Santos's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Osterman gets off balance looking for a body kick and Dos Santos counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Dos Santos is just content to waste time from the top position. Osterman takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Dos Santos throwing strikes but missing. Dos Santos trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Osterman has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Dos Santos has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Osterman leaning against his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Osterman breaks the clinch.
Osterman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dos Santos can do to turn this around? Osterman misses with a wild body shot. Dos Santos is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Osterman lands with an overhand left. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Osterman connects with an inside leg kick. Osterman throws a combination that misses and Dos Santos counters with a shoot takedown. Osterman fights it but they end up in guard.

Osterman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Osterman looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Osterman would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Dos Santos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Osterman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Osterman stands and steps away. Dos Santos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. A momentary lapse in concentration from Dos Santos enables Osterman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dos Santos manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
