TWGC 22 (265lbs, D3): Tokyo Qualifier - Round 2 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Ben Wallace (ranked 5867 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hello Bay (ranked 2096 p4p, 188 weight class). Hello Bay told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Ben Wallace! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Hello Bay!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Wallace throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bay's waist but Bay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wallace off to one side.
Bay fails to land the takedown.
Wallace dives in and grabs Bay's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bay pushes down on Wallace's head and hops out.

Wallace gets caught flat footed, as Bay shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Wallace is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bay defends well.
Wallace on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wallace tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bay's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Bay might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Wallace takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bay preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Wallace wants to control from the top but Bay keeps moving.
