Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Silvio Dante (ranked 1792 p4p, 183 weight class) and Marcos Santana (ranked 2776 p4p, 243 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcos Santana!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Hemmingworth and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dante misses with an uppercut.
Santana drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Dante defends it well.
Dante throws a body shot but no joy.
Dante connects with a jab.
Santana shoots in for a takedown but Dante shows good takedown defense.
Santana clinches up with Dante and pushes him back against the cage.
Santana can't get the takedown.
Dante is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Silvio Dante has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcos Santana.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dante is keen to just control but Santana is a slippery customer.

Santana is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dante's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dante's back!
Dante is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Santana off. It looks like it's working - Santana slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Dante displaying calm under pressure there.

and Dante counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've been told by Dante's head coaches at RWB GYM that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Dante goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Santana tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dante manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Marcos Santana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dante throws a lazy right hand but Santana sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Santana closes the distance but Dante moves to the side
and Dante counters with a straight right hand.

Dante tries to keep at a distance but Santana has taken the fight into the clinch.

Santana has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dante avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Santana tries to clinch up but Dante circles away and keeps his distance.
Santana shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dante's guard.
